Hyphen Web Desk
Masdar, the UAE’s prominent renewable energy company, has signed a landmark power purchase agreement for a 1GW wind power project in Kazakhstan's Jambyl region. This ambitious initiative aligns with both nations’ shared commitment to expanding renewable energy capacities and fostering sustainability in the region.
The agreement, signed at COP28, is a cornerstone for Kazakhstan's strategy to increase renewables to 15% of its energy mix by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The project represents one of the largest wind energy developments in Central Asia and is designed to significantly bolster Kazakhstan's transition to green energy while addressing global climate goals.
